What’s Growing in My Neck of the Woods

Fall is settling in here in Calgary, and I thought it was a good time to share a little of what’s happening in my neck of the woods.
Plant Walks
The 2026 plant walk season has wrapped up, but I’m already looking ahead to next year.
My two-hour guided medicinal plant walks will return in 2027 in Calgary and the surrounding area.
Walks are $50 per person, and the 2027 dates will be announced May 1. Group rates are available for two or more people.
These walks are really about slowing down and getting to know the plants we so often walk right past — learning how to identify them, how they’ve traditionally been used, and the role they play in the landscape around us.

Green Neighbours
My eBook, Green Neighbours: Wild and Medicinal Plants of Southern Alberta, is available through my website.
It’s a guide to some of the wild and medicinal plants growing around us, with plant identification, traditional uses, harvesting information and practical herbal knowledge.
Tea Blends
A couple of teas have joined the shelves—Breathe Deep Tea and Forest Calm Tea.
Rather than creating products simply for the sake of having more products, I like to architect herbal blends with a purpose — considering the plants, how they work together, that the tea tastes really nice and what I actually want the finished blend to do. Stay tuned, many more products to come.
eGift Cards
Gift cards are now available as well. They can be used toward herbal products, the eBook and future plant walks, so the person receiving one can decide what interests them.
